Sacroiliac Joint Injection

The sacroiliac joints are located at the base of the spine between iliac bones and the sacrum. Sometimes straining these joints can cause severe pain in the low back that does radiate into one or both legs. It may be very painful just to sit down. Injecting cortisone with a little local anesthetic can be both a diagnostic and therapeutic procedure.

These procedures are all done under x-ray guidance and sedation in the procedure suite or in a hospital outpatient setting
