This procedure is done mainly as a diagnostic tool but can also be therapeutic in certain circumstances. It involves basically infusing steroid with local anesthetic around certain nerves and hopefully obtaining relief pain that is in the distribution of the nerve is blocked.

These procedures are all done under x-ray guidance and sedation in the procedure suite or in a hospital outpatient setting
